Another fun scouts adventure weekend at Cirencester
We took Scouts and Explorers from across the Forest of Dean to Belgium for a week. We stayed at the De Kluis camp site near St Joris Weert. We cycled, canoed, hiked, swam, saw battlefields, visited the scout museum, and Brussels. It was brilliant.
It was a heatwave for the Scout paddle down the Wye. Started at Luckshall Campsite, camped at Tresseck at Hoarwithy. Decided not to paddle on Sunday, even an early start would have carried risk of over-heating.
We had a great paddle down the Wye. Started at Ross, down to Lydbrook. Glorious Day
First Survival Friday for 4 years. Chilly overnight, so people were up at 0450 😮
Scouts were on the Wye tonight learning canoe skills in preparation for the Exped Paddle. It was a very wet evening.
The Scouts took part in a District Night Hike with various bases. Great fun.
